Your future flatmates: We are 3 students at Middlesex uni, 1 of us is studying English Lit, and 2 of us are studying Popular Music (one's a first-year, and one's a second-year). I am a mid-thirties English teacher who may be going overseas to work for the next 8 months and require a room to maintain a residence here in England. Regardless of whether or not I take the new position, I do spend quite a lot of time out of the country anyway and I need to downsize my current expenses.

I am looking to move around the last week of September / early October for the right residence and wouldn't be back until Christmas or Easter, perhaps for a possible weekend (3-4 day stretch) or two in between.

I smoke occasionally, but am happy to do so outside. Other than that I am very clean and easy to live with.

I would be able to pay 2 months in advance and set up a standing order thereafter. I would also be happy to contribute towards a portion of electricity / gas / internet even when I am away for such extended periods and would just need someone to collect my post and leave it in my room in exchange.

I would also be open to the idea of the room being used in my absence, though of course only as a guest room and not for rent unless a schedule could be worked out that might benefit us both.

I have minimal furniture - a desk and a china cabinet - but quite a lot of books, ornaments and kitchen gear that could either go into storage or stack neatly in boxes in the newly rented room, dependent on space.

The house is a 2-3 minute walk to Bexleyheath station which provides trains directly into London with 25- 30 mins. Town centre is also a 15min walk away.
There is room on the drive to fit a car if needed. We all share the Bathroom which is newly fitted and very big with a choice of a large shower or bath.
As its an all female household the communal areas such as bathroom, kitchen are always kept very clean and tidy and it is never overcrowded due to the size of the house.

The Room: Single room with a bed provided,shelves and rails within to store clothes/belongings. The room is big enough to fit a desk in if needed or chest of drawers but that isnt provided. The room isnt huge so i do have extra space in the house and garage if you want to store things you dont need on a daily basis.

I will require 1 month rent up front of £375 for a deposit plus whatever is owed for the rest of the month that you move in. the deposit you will get back at the end of the tenancy given the room is to the correct standard.
Ideally i would like someone to stay at least 6 months as the other girls are just about to sign another 6 month agreement.

Character Reference will be requested.

Also open to renting the room mon-fri at a discounted price.

The room is available from 28th September. Viewing any evening after 7 and weekends.
