We are a professional couple (nurse and a managing director) and we live in Brixton in a victorian house and have a beautiful attic room available from end of November onwards.
Our house is very homely with a lovely big (and brand new!) kitchen with all mod cons (including a dish washer and a large american fridge / freezer), a very spacious living room with an open fire (lovely for those cold winters nights!) and of course a bathroom with a bath and a shower. There is also a communal hallway where you can store your bike, if you have one.
If you drive a car, you do need a parking permit, which you can obtain fairly easily from the Lambeth council.
The attic room has a double bed and plenty of storage space. It has lovely views overlooking all the gardens and it is also very private when you need some time for yourself.
Our house is about 10 walk from Brixton tube (Victoria line) and train station and about 20 minute walk from Herne Hill train station. There are numerous buses as well. We are also only about 5 minute walk away from the beautiful Brockwell park, which has a Lido with a brand new gym and a lovely cafe in it. There are also numerous shops are bars just around the corner from our house.
We love cooking and have an allotment in Dulwich where we grow our own veggies. (Although do not fear, we are not total nerds! :-D) We are not so much into partying anymore, but we do enjoy a very busy social life with drinks, dinners, movie nights etc. We also have an old VW campervan and love going away camping over the weekends.
The rent is £550 per month, but on top of that we ask £150 towards the bills, which will cover everything: water, gas, electricity, council tax, broadband etc We also ask £100 towards food: we like to share all general food and household items - I would hate to live like students and argue over cheese...! So in total it is £800 per month, but that will cover ALL your living costs!!
We are looking for someone who is professional, friendly, clean and considerate and not a raging party animal. If you would like to live somewhere where we are friends and not just “housemates†( but with our own space too!) and would like somewhere chilled to come home to, then please do not hesitate to contact us! :-)
